Billionaire investor Mark Cuban launched an online pharmacy Thursday that offers more than 100 generic drugs at an affordable price with a goal of being āradically transparentā in its price negotiations with drug companies.Ā
The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs Company (MCCPDC) is a registered pharmaceutical wholesaler and purchases drugs directly from manufacturers, bypassing middlemen to lower the price of more than 100 medications, it said in a statement. Hereās the website:

A 10-year-old girl managed to survive 18 hours overnight in a freezing winter blizzard in Russia. Her survival secret: A stray dog.Ā
After going missing from school inĀ Uglegorsk, Russia, and getting caught in the freezing cold snow storm, the girl clung to the warmth of the stray animal before a pack of authorities and volunteers could target her, Russian newspapersĀ Komsomolskaya PravdaĀ and The Siberian Times reported.

5. Canadians donate thousands to animal-rescue organizations in honour of Betty White
Animal rescue organizations across Canada have receivedĀ thousands of dollarsĀ in honour of the late Betty White, the much-loved actor and animal-rights advocate. Monday would have marked White's 100th birthday, but she died on Dec. 31.Ā In her honour, a social media movement called the #BettyWhiteChallenge popped up encouraging people to donate to local animal shelters.
6. Afghan family makes new life in the Missouri Ozarks with help of one U.S. veteran
Tommy and Sally Breedlove hug Romal and Farishta Noori as they greet them and their four children at the Springfield-Branson National Airport. Romal Noori, who served as a translator for American troops in Afghanistan, fled the country with his family after the troop withdrawal last year.
When Breedlove heard from his translator that some US allies were being left behind, he co-foundedĀ oneĀ of several private nonprofits trying to extract these American and Afghan allies.
Breedlove's translator and Noori worked as Breedlove's inside menĀ ā escorting many of their countrymen out of Afghanistan to safety.
