1. White House unveils $5 billion plan to blanket US highways with new electric-car chargers
The US government is starting to make good on Joe Biden's promise for 500,000 public electric-car chargers. The government will give nearly $5 billion to help states build out their charging infrastructure.
The plan aims to beef up charging access along interstate highways.
Dollywood Parks & Resorts announced Tuesday it will cover 100% of tuition, fees and books for any employee.
The significant investment in employee education will be made through Herschend’s GROW U., a new program, piloted by Herschend Enterprises, Dolly Parton’s operating partner in Dollywood.
3. Scientists make paralyzed mice walk again by giving them spinal cord implants.
Israeli scientists have made paralyzed mice walk by giving them spinal cord implants, and say they are less than three years away from doing the same for humans in clinical trials.
Tech got 12 out of 15 mice in study moving well; human trial expected in less than 3 years, aiming to ‘offer all paralyzed people hope that they may walk again’
Original creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen will return alongside voice stars Billy West and Katey Sagal, among others.
Nearly 10 years after it signed off, Futurama has been revived for a 20-episode run on Hulu, the third platform for the animated comedy from creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.
6. The bald eagle has been removed from Vermont's endangered species list
Removing them from a state list has little to no negative impacts on eagles because the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (passed by Congress in 1940) still prevents the “take” of eagles or their parts, where take includes among other things “molesting or disturbing” the eagles where disturb includes anything that agitates or bothers the eagles in any way that could cause in any way: injury, decrease productivity, interfere with normal breeding feeding or sheltering behavior, nest abandonment.
The man, in his mid-50s, fell from a tender, a small transport boat, near Royal Clarence Marina in Gosport on Saturday evening. The dog walker rang 999 after her pet would not stop barking near the bridge, alerting her to his calls for help.
She said Poppy, a black cockapoo "just suddenly started barking, when she stopped I could hear somebody shouting for help so I called the coastguard."
